All jewelry requires care, and Pseudocoelomate pieces are no exception. Please see below for full instructions on how to take care of your new piece. Pseudocoelomate is not responsible for items that have broken or tarnished due to manual degradation, chemical exposure, water exposure, animal damage, or improper storage.
How To Care for Your Piece
Avoid exposing your pieces to sunscreens, lotions, perfumes, water, and other chemicals to maintain their integrity and structure.
♡ Chemical Exposure ♡
Yes, water is also a chemical! When water, especially water that contains dissolved chemicals like lotions, soaps, or sunscreens repeatedly soaks a piece, components of the piece such as nylon-coated wire coating can go through a process called hydrolysis, resulting in the structure of the material breaking down. While some components of Pseudocoelomate pieces are waterproof/water-resistant (glass, stainless steel, lucite, etc.), others are not (nylon, copper, leather, etc.). Please note in the “anything else” section of the custom order form if you would like water-resistant materials only.
♡ Water Exposure ♡
The most common example of mechanical wear is customers fidgeting with the beads and charms on their piece. Please avoid fidgeting and pulling on pieces.
♡ Manual/Mechanical Wear ♡
♡ Storage ♡
Store your pieces in a cool, dry area, preferably a jewelry box or bag.
Clean oil and dirt from your pieces with a clean & dry cotton, flannel, or microfiber cloth. Do not wash your pieces with soap and water. It is important to wipe silver components with a polishing cloth at least once a month to avoid heavy tarnishing. Stainless steel is more forgiving, but still requires care. Copper may change color over time due to oxidation.
♡ Cleaning ♡
All sales are final. Pseudocoelomate does not issue refunds, exchanges, or returns due to sanitary reasons and the cost of materials. If you believe your piece is defective, please contact Anna at shoppseudocoelomate@gmail.com.
Please see the shipping and legal page for more information regarding accidentally placed orders.
